Property Information

  • Fountain House, a Palladian Mansion, was built c.1735 for a wealthy merchant and until 1770 stood alone surrounded by gardens which extended from Hay Hill to the Paragon.

Tradition has it that it was then incorporated into Fountain Buildings by John Wood the Younger  and became part of fashionable Bath due to its close proximity to the Assembly Rooms.

When Bath’s popularity waned as the centre for social activity Fountain House was divided and slowly fell into disrepair.  The building became derelict and was purchased by Oliver Investments Ltd in 1985 and was subsequently restored and converted into Hotel Apartments.

Fountain View is a centrally located chic two bedroom flat nesting on the third (top) floor of a grand period building called Fountain House – so grand, it actually has a lift! With its stunning view of Bath it is the perfect base to explore the delights of Bath so close to attractions, shops and the many restaurants.

The modern kitchen and double bedroom are on entry level. Access to the bathroom, sitting room and twin bedroom is via 3 steps. There are electric radiators in each bedroom, lounge and hallway.

The sitting room with its chimney pot views across Bath has a large sofa with a flat screen TV, DVD plus play station 2 for your entertainment. The dining area has a table and seating for four.

The bathroom has a tub with shower over, loo, basin along with a heated rail for toasty towels.

This is a lovely modern centrally flat tastefully decorated by the owners. Everything you could possibly require will be in the flat, from lovely linens and towels to tea, coffee and cookies.  There is plenty of natural light from the sash windows and the magical city of Bath is just on the doorstep.

There is a zoned parking permit available with the property.
