This property, unique to BHH, is a wonderful example of a terraced Georgian town house, conveniently located in a hidden cul-de-sac right in the city centre. Recent renovation and conversion to introduce modern standards was carefully done, the décor introduced authentic colours, and the new owner has taken the whole thing a considerable step further and introduced furnishings & fittings to produce a modern townhouse in a quiet corner of the city centre.
As is usual with Georgian town houses, there were two rooms to a floor and four floors. Inspired tweaking of the space has produced bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, but retained space where it is needed, as in the full-width sitting room, and dining room and kitchen. The floor plan illustrates well the distribution of the rooms.
The dining room is smart, with large table and leather-covered chairs, chandelier, and original wall panelling. The adjacent kitchen is up-to-the minute with granite worktops, tasteful décor, a range cooker, an island unit, and all expected appliances.
The first floor houses a spacious drawing room with sofas, easy chairs and large flat-screen TV. The charming view from the windows here is of a quintessential Georgian double-fronted house. A large bedroom with en-suite shower room is also on this floor.
The second floor presents a cosy double-bedded room with adjacent single bedded room which share a very spacious and beautifully fitted bathroom with roll-top bath, fitted shower cubicle, basin unit, and wc. At this level there is a landing corner which can very conveniently be used for office activities, with a shelf for a computer, and a swivel chair.
A lower ground floor with plenty of natural light, has two large bedrooms, one with particularly large and smart en-suite bathroom, and the other with a compact room with basin and wc.
The owner is fully committed to presenting and maintaining her lovely house and offers many additional services, such as a full cold buffet spread for Friday night arrivals, catering for other days of the week, a masseuse can come to the house, and beauty therapy is offered too. By special arrangement an adjacent hotel will welcome visitors to breakfast there.
Future visitors will be delighted with this house and the almost-hidden location in the city centre, with no passing traffic.
