This is a gracious, detached Georgian house, right in the city, built in an age when wealthy people came to Bath to take the waters and temporarily rented luxurious accommodation to do so. What was a Georgian holiday home 250 years ago is now offered as a 21st century holiday home, and the delights of the warm and healing waters can be enjoyed again in the new Thermae Bath Spa.
Accommodation is offered for up to 14 people in a spacious 4-storey house, delightfully presented in a country-house style in keeping with its age. Unusually for Bath, it stands well back from the high pavement, and has space surrounding it, with a garden to the front planted with shrubs and herbs, and a tranquil seating area.
There are 3 double-bedded rooms and 4 twin bedded rooms; two bathrooms with showers and toilets and one shower room with toilet. A kitchen on the ground floor serves the large adjacent communal dining room, seating 14, and another complete dining-kitchen on the second floor provides facilities for late night snacks or early breakfasts to the visitors in the surrounding bedrooms. The communal sitting room and adjacent library provide relaxing space, while the library also double as an office situation.
The Admirals House is most conveniently placed, a mere 4 minutes walk to the main shopping street and 10 minutes walk to the main city sights of the Royal Crescent, the Abbey, the Roman and Thermae baths. Being right in the city centre, parking is restricted, but advice wil be given regarding parking. We would suggest using public transport to arrive in Bath.
Visitors will enjoy this intriguing house, with its historic connections, present-day comforts, and proximity to all city amenities. It is run by a committed owner and his team. |
